Virginia A. (Newhart) Whitted

Virginia A. Whitted, age 84, of Whitted Drive, Newfield, NY passed away Sunday, June 28, 2020 unexpectedly at home.

Virginia was born July 7, 1935 in Ithaca, NY the daughter of the late Calvin J. and Minnie M. Mack Newhart. On July 15, 1952 she was married to Rudolph “Rudy” Whitted who passed away March 27, 2017. She had been employed with Cornell University at Clara Dixon Hall and with Challenge Industries. She enjoyed spending time with her many grandchildren and family members.

Virginia is survived by her son, Kenneth (Kathy) Whitted at home; grandchildren, Eilene, Amanda Russell, Angela, Taylor, Crystal, Kianna, Keion, Michelle, Amanda and Mona.  Also surviving are several great grandchildren, nephews, Ray Jr., Ralph and Craig Newhart.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Douglas Whitted and brothers, Raymond and James Newhart.

Friends and Family may call from 1-2 pm followed by Funeral services at 2 pm, Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at the Perkins Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial gifts for her family, given in her name, may be sent to the funeral home, 55 W.
