AARON JAMES SHEHU, age 17, of 9 Eden Drive, Groton, NY passed away Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 in Penn Yan, NY. Aaron was born July 29, 1993 in Ithaca and is the son of Xhem and Nancy Brown Shehu of Groton. He was a student at Dryden High School and at TST BOCES where he was studying for a career in cooking. He was a member of the McLean Fire Dept. and had completed CPR and First Aid.
Additionally he was a member of the Assembly of God Royal Rangers and attended the Christian Assembly of God Church in Cortland, NY. Aaron was active in helping his parents with many years of foster children. He had a love of working with babies and children.Survivors include his parents, Xhem and Nancy Brown Shehu of Groton; his siblings, Lynn Shehu, Christopher Shehu, Alex (Sonya) Shehu, Ryan Shehu and Tasa Towsley; grandparents, Iva Aiken, Rev. Elwin and Rev. Marian Brown. He is also survived by siblings, Ashlee Martinez and Randy Martinez and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM,Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010 in the Christian Assembly of God Church, 175 Port Watson St. Cortland. Burial will follow in Mclean Rural Cemetery, Mclean, NY. Friends are invited to call from 4 to 6 PM, Wednesday at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY. Memorials are directed to the McLean Fire Dept., Mclean, NY 13062.
