Alethea Hall

ITHACA - Alethea Couch Hall, age 94, of Compton Road, Ithaca, NY passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 at home.
Born April 22, 1922 in Ithaca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joel D. and Dorothy A. Brown Couch and wife of the late William L. Hall who died in 2005. Lea was a data entry operator in the school of Ag Economics at Cornell University prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Ithaca Senior Citizens and First Presbyterian Church. She was well known for her delicious cookies.
Lea is survived by her three sons, Donald W. (Marty) Hall of Lake Worth, FL, Frank V. (Filomena) Hall of Ithaca, NY and Peter A. (Sally) Hall of Ithaca, NY; daughter in law, Jean Hall of Danby, NY; her brothers, Edward (Nancy) Couch of Dryden, NY and Milton (Clarice) Couch of NC; 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition, she was predeceased by her son, William B. Hall on January 21, 2016 and by her brothers, E. David and Donald V. Couch.
Graveside services will be held at 2 PM, Friday, August 26, 2016 at Caroline Grove Cemetery, Brooktondale, NY with Rev. Kirianne Weave Riehl officiating. There will be no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cornell University Lab of Ornithology, 159 Sapsucker Woods Rd., Ithaca, NY or Hospicare, 172 East King Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850.
