Alga S. Vose

ALGA S. VOSE, age 74, of 17 Highland Crescent, Dryden, NY died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005 at Strong Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Vose was born May 5, 1930 at Syracuse, NY a son of the late Alga E. and Ida Holton Vose. On May 27, 1978 he was married to the former Donna Phelps Graves at the Freeville United Methodist Church. He was retired from Cornell University having worked for 50 years at General Stores while driving for Cornell Transit part time for 35 years. Recently Algie was a motor coach driver for Swarthout Coaches. "Algie" served in the US Army and was a member of the Leonard T. Spaulding Post #1134, American Legion and the Dryden Fire Department. Mr. and Mrs. Vose are members of the Etna Community Baptist Church. Algie was a popular motor coach

driver, often working in conjunction with his wife as a tour guide and escort. Always concerned for others, Algie and Donna were raising their grandson, Kyle, at home in Dryden.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Vose at home, his daughters, Kim A. (Charles) Tuohey of Orlando, FL and Doddie V. (Rick) Thomas of St. Cloud, FL; his son, Alga Michael (Sally) Vose of Ithaca, NY; three step-daughters, Linda Bell Pineda, Debra Graves and Kimberly Clute; grandchildren; Nathan and Sara Vose, Sergius Antoniak, Kyle Stephen Graves; nieces; nephews and several cousins.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. E. Carolyn Byrne and Rev. Tom Gordon officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Friends are invited to call from 7 to 9 PM Tuesday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY. Members of Spencer Masonic Lodge will conduct Masonic Services at 8:45 PM Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations in Algie’s memory may be directed to the Sergius Antoniak and Kyle Graves Education Fund, c/o CFCU, 1030 Craft Road, Ithaca, NY 14850-1016.
