DRYDEN – Alida G. Burch, age 89 formerly of Virgil Road, Dryden, NY passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Beechtree Care Center in Ithaca, NY.
Born November 21, 1923 in Homer, NY, she was the daughter of the late John T. and Cornelia Slegers Simmons and wife of the late Lloyd C. Burch who died in 1986.
Mrs. Burch is survived by her son, David C. (Carol) Burch of Barnum, MN; daughter, Lorraine B. (Daniel) Lathrop of San Diego, CA; daughter in law, Annette (Burch) Marquis; two grandchildren, Sandra B. (Robb) Sovoda and Christopher Burch; eight great grandchildren; siblings, John T. Simmons, Jr., Muriel A. Rongo, Elizabeth Shults, and Lyle E. Simmons and several nieces and nephews. In addition, she was predeceased by her son, Dana P. Burch in 1990.
Friends may call from 3-5 pm Wednesday, November 20th at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on what would be Alida’s 90th birthday, Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew P. Binkewicz officiating. Burial in Green Hills Cemetery will be followed by a Celebration of Alida’s life, for family and friends, from 12:45 – 4pm at The Candlelight Inn, 49 W. Main St., Dryden.
