ALLEN L. CALL,
age 64 of Gulf Hill Rd., Cortland, NY passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 at the VA Hospital in Syracuse, NY. Born July 13, 1947 in Cortland, NY, he was a son of Thelma Bixler Chapman and the late George A. Call.
He grew up in McLean, NY and was a Retired Sergeant First Class and Vietnam Veteran of the US Army. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Expert National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/Palm, Army Commendation Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and farming and going to auctions.
Allen is survived by his wife, Donna Osterhoudt Call of Cortland, NY; daughters, Penny Fox of Groton, NY, Amy Gleason of McLean, NY; son, Scott Call of Cortland, NY; grandchildren, Kaylee Gleason and Connor Gleason; brothers, Steven (Linda) Call of Texas, Kevin Call of Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Monica (Bill) Cuthbert of Dryden, Brenda Prentice of Groton, NY, and Renee (Tim) Lee of Groton, NY; brother in law, Gary Osterhoudt of Homer, NY; former son in law, Timothy G. Fox of Cincinnatus, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his brother, Leonard and his uncle, Maurace.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, April 20, 2012 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY with Rev. Dale Austin officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Homer, NY. Friends may call from 5-8 pm Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the funeral home.
