ALLEN McCAFFREY, age 83, of Groton died Sunday, Dec. 30 at the Hospicare Residence. He was a retired member of the Local 272, Plumbers and Steam Fitters Union and was a long time area resident. He served honorably in the US Army in Okinawa. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; children, Laurie and Margaret McCaffrey, Frank , Ronald and James C. Bindhammer; a daughter-in-law, Shawn Bindhammer; grandchildren, Nicholas Crans, Lukas Cowart, Steven, J.R., Amanda, A.J. and Nolan Bindhammer and Michael Perry; many great-grandchildren and a brother, Robert McCaffrey.
