It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anna M. Balducci, a beloved mother, Nana, and friend. Ann was also a cherished member of the Dryden community. Her nurturing spirit enriched the lives of her family and those fortunate enough to know her. Her Italian recipes, shared with love, became a cherished part of family gatherings and community events. She taught 2nd grade at Dryden Elementary for 35 years and in Canastota, NY. Anna peacefully left us at the age of 88, at Kingston Memory Care in Perrysburg, OH, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, compassion, and love.
Born on July 9, 1935, in Homer, NY, Ann's journey began with a passion for education and a commitment to shaping young minds. She devoted her life to the art of teaching, sharing her knowledge, wisdom, and culture with generations of students who were fortunate to be under her care. Her warmth and patience created an environment in which every child felt valued and inspired to learn. Many remember her creative teaching methods that ignited a lifelong love for learning in those she taught, as well as the aspiring teachers she mentored.
Upon her retirement, Ann continued to contribute to her community by volunteering her time to local charitable organizations. She was an active member of Hobby Club, Dryden Book Club, sewing clothes for the poor, volunteering at Holy Cross Church in Freeville, NY and making blankets for the homeless. She taught Catechism at Holy Cross, participated in Story Hour at the Dryden library, and was a substitute teacher for many years after her retirement.
Ann was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Ernest Balducci in 2022, her parents, John and Clara (Ciaschi) Galeotti, and her brother, John Galeotti., Jr of Homer.
