Anne Elizabeth Timmerman(nee Witko), age 60, passed away on Monday, July 1, at her home in Dryden, following an intense battle with cancer. She spent the last 3 months surrounded by family and friends at all times. She will be greatly missed in the Dryden community, as well as the area at large. Anne spent her entire life in service of those she loved, and would do anything for anyone. She truly held the community together with her compassion, empathy and generosity. Anne was one of the most caring and loving women imaginable, a true angel.
Anne attended elementary school in the Onteora School District in the Catskill Region of New York, where her father was the Principal and coached many sports. She earned the title of ‘Valedictorian’ of her graduating 6th grade class, and was always known as one of the most intelligent among her peers. The Witko family moved to Dryden in 1967, and Anne attended Dryden schools until her senior year. In June of 1971 she was graduated from Ithaca’s Cascadilla School. After attending 3 different colleges, Anne received her Nursing Degree from Keuka College in 1977.
