Archie L. Sutfin

ARCHIE L. SUTFIN, age 71, of Midline Road, Freeville, NY passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at the Syracuse VA Hospital after a period of declining health. Archie was born on September 15, 1943 in Ithaca, NY a son of the late John and Mable Cornelius Sutfin. Archie was graduated from Dryden High School and entered the US Navy in 1964 serving until 1987 when he retired as a Lieutenant. After military service he became employed at the Dryden Central School
where he worked until 2000. Never wanting to be idle, he worked several part time jobs including with Lucente Homes until last fall, finally retiring due to his health. He enjoyed camping and going to yard sales but most of all enjoyed time spent with his family and his Shih Tzu dogs, Taz and Buffy.

Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Brenda Justice Sutfin at home, his brothers, Ken (Ina) of McLean, David of Freeville, George (Sandie) of Ithaca, Henry of Freeville, Gene (Anne) of Freeville and Donald (Kim) Sutfin of Freeville; a sister, Ruth Sutfin of Oneonta; sisters-in-law, Sherry (Mike) Ohrel of St. Peters, MO and Laurie (Ted) Decker of Joppa, MD; his mother-in-law, Pauline Justice, Timonium, MD; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Maynard, Raymond and Frank Sutfin as well as his father-in-law, Bud Justice.
