BARBARA J. KENTCH, age 70, of 735 NYS Rt. 392, Cortland, NY (Town of Virgil) died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at home after a lengthy illness. Barbara was born July 12, 1942, a daughter of the late Edward and Mary Staniec Allen.

age 70, of 735 NYS Rt. 392, Cortland, NY (Town of Virgil) died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at home after a lengthy illness. Barbara was born July 12, 1942, a daughter of the late Edward and Mary Staniec Allen.
A life resident of the area, Barbara was married to Elwyn G. Kentch on Dec. 5, 1959 at McLean. For many years she was a secretary at the Hatter Fuel Company. Barb was a member of the Virgil PTA and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Elwyn G. “Al” Kentch of Cortland; Michael (Marilyn) Kentch of Wellsville, PA, Jeffrey (Bridget) Kentch of Cortland, Brian (Anne) Kentch of Groton, NY; MaryAnn (David) Meldrum and Jeanne (David Sheeley) MacDonald; grandchildren, Aaron, Kyle and Amanda Kentch and Emily (Josh) Ryerson and Samantha Kentch; a great-grandson, Aiden Kentch; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends are invited to call from 5 to 7 PM, Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at the Perkins Funeral Home. Interment will be private in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Memorials are directed to the Caring Community Hospice of Cortland, 11 Kennedy Parkway, Cortland, NY 13045.
