Barbara R. Lavine

BARBARA R. LAVINE, age 73, of Mill Street, Freeville, NY passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Barbara was born April 21, 1936 in Cuyler, NY a daughter of the late Curtis and Nellie Wright Anderson. She was employed for many years at the Dryden Elementary School Cafeteria and as a School Bus Driver. Later she was employed at a few businesses at and near the Ithaca-Tompkins Airport. On August 12, 1967 she was married to David Lavine in McGraw. Barb was an avid Yankee Baseball fan. She loved to paint, crochet and spend time with her grandchildren as well as growing flowers and working in her gardens.

Survivors include her husband, David Lavine of Freeville, her children, Philip L. Hammond of Freeville, Kurt C. (Callise) Hammond of Killawog, Timothy A. (Sherrie) Hammond of Cortland, Mark S. Hammond of Rochester, Lonnell Pantos of Cortland, Renee Hulslander of Port Richey, FL, DeAnna (Ley) Backus of Unadilla; her siblings, Ronald (Iris) Anderson of Virgil, William (Linda) Anderson of Groton, Ann (Gus) Frytel of Binghamton and Mary (David) Crisfield of McGraw; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a grandson, David Hammond and siblings, Donald Anderson, Ramona Stanton and Helen Feint.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Austin officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call from 4 to 7 PM Wednesday and from 10 to 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden. Memorials are graciously directed to the W.B.
