BETTY S. FOOTE, age 90, formerly of 6 Baker Hill Rd., Freeville, NY, passed away, Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2014 at the Cortland Memorial Nursing Facility after a period of declining health. Mrs. Foote was born Sep. 2, 1923 in Cortland a daughter of the late Mike and Mary Sak Sopp. She was graduated from Cortland High School in 1940 and in November 3, 1946 was married to Robert D. Foote who died Dec. 3, 1979. Mr. and Mrs. Foote were the proprietors of The Plantation Inn on Dryden Road from 1956 to 2004. She will be missed by family and friends alike.
Survivors include her children, Patricia Foote of Syracuse and Donald (Susan) Foote of Dryden; her siblings, Ernest Sopp of Stockton, CA and William Sopp of Syracuse; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband and five siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Friday, Aug. 8, 2014 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Wheat of the Dryden United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call Thursday from 4 to 6 PM and from 1 to 2 pm Friday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY.
