BETTY C. GUREWICH,
age 83, of 15 Highland Crescent, Dryden, NY passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the Cayuga Medical Center after a long illness. Mrs. Gurewich was born May 28, 1925 in Wilkes-Barre, PA a daughter of the late William and Jessica Harris Noble. Betty was graduated from Coughlin High School in 1943 and Thomas Jefferson Nursing School in Philadelphia where she became a Registered Nurse. On October 28, 1946 she was married to Bernard F. Gurewich in Newark, NJ. Betty and Bernie loved to travel and visited many countries in addition to visiting many of the United States. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed her family.
Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Bernard at home, three sons, Lawrence W. Gurewich of Dryden, Alan R. (Anna) Gurewich of Dryden and David P. (Joan) Gurewich of Yuma, AZ; two grandchildren, Nicole and Brian Gurewich of Dryden; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Emily Gearie and Sara J. Noble.
At Mrs. Gurewich’s request, services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery, Dryden.
