Beverly J. Chase

Mrs. Beverly Chase, a longtime resident of McLean, NY passed away on August 17, 2017 at the age of 96. She was the widow of Ralph Chase, to whom she was married for 51 years.
Born April 2, 1921 in Cortland, NY she was the daughter of the late Herman and Alice Bartlett Brown. She had been employed with Smith Corona in Groton and South Cortland as a line inspector for 31 years. During her years in McLean, she was the unofficial "Mom" of all the kids that gathered at their home. She was a Den Mother with the Cub Scouts, and when her boys were older, helped them advance in the Boy Scout Troop and proudly sewed on their merit badges. Later she resided at Willowbrook Manor, Dryden from 1993 until 2015 when she went to the Groton Nursing Facility. She loved to travel across the United States and had been to England and France. She will be missed by all the people who knew her, especially her loving family.
Mrs. Chase was a loving mother to and is survived by her two sons, Lester, who resides in Kingwood, TX with his wife, Ann; and Marvin, who lives in Groton, NY with his wife, Kathy. In addition, she was a proud grandmother to Theresa Chase of Aspen, CO , Sarah Chase of Irving, TX, Tamara Yang of Clifton, VA, and Sean Chase of Mesa, AZ; six great grandchildren who always delighted her; sister in law, Josephine Chase of Rochester, NY and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY with Pastor Vern Groves officiating. Burial will follow in McLean Cemetery, McLean, NY. Friends may call from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to The Salvation Army for relief efforts.
