Burial services for Bret E. Neff, age 37, of 932 Daisy Hollow Rd., Dryden, NY who died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004 as a result of a fire scene accident in the Town of Caroline will be held at 10 AM Saturday, May 15, 2004 at Willow Glen cemetery, Dryden. NY. Members of Local Fire Departments will process from the Harford Fire Station to the grave where there will be a fireman’s burial ceremony and a military burial ceremony. Fire personnel desiring to attend should contact their department for specific details and times. Military honors will be accorded by members of the Dryden Veterans Memorial Home Ritual Team.

Bret was born November 9, 1966 in Newport, RI a son of Bert E. and Dorothy Hilsinger Neff of Dryden. Bret served in the US Navy from 1990 to 1996 on the USS Ranger as an Aerospace Hospital Corpsman. He had worked as a Tioga County Corrections Officer also at Dryden Agway and was currently a Electrocardiogram Technician at Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca. He was a member and current Deputy Chief of the Harford Vol. Fire Company, the Dryden Township Post 8158, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He had recently completed the NYS Emergency Medical Technician course. Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY is handling arrangements.

Survivors include his son, Dustin Neff of Spencer, his parents, Bert E. and Dorothy Neff of Dryden, his brother, Bert Eugene Neff, III of Beaver Falls, PA; his sisters, Debra Morrison of Cortland, Karen Neff of Freeville, Pamela Neff of Dryden and Peggy Grimaldi of Hudson, FL; several aunts; uncles, nieces; nephews and cousins.

Private Funeral services will be at 1 PM Friday, Feb. 27, 2004 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew Smith officiating. Burial will be delayed until spring. Friends are invited to call from 3 to 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY. Fire personnel will enter the visitation at 1800 hours. Please contact your department for specific instructions. There will be a reception at the Harford Town Hall for the public following the funeral. Those wishing to remember Bret are asked to send a memorial, in lieu of flowers, to the Harford Vol. Fire Co., P.O. Box 7, Harford, NY 13784-0007.
