Candi (Schlick) Lovejoy

CANDI (Schlick) LOVEJOY, age 43 of Richford, NY died January 31, 2006 in Painted Post, NY. Candi was born May 31, 1962 at Ithaca, NY a daughter of the late Linda Lovejoy Schlick Sherwood and adopted daughter of Robert Schlick. Candi survived and overcame an exceedingly tumultuous childhood and a mountain of bad choices made by many people, including herself. However she became a colorful, plain talkin', tattooed, stray animal finder and former brawler. Guitar, singing, music, friends, trucks, and her family were just some of her passions. She was a tough on the outside, tender on the inside, unforgettable, notorious, funny, unpredictable, Jesus lovin', deeply caring woman. A true miracle, a transformed life, a one and only.

She will be sorely missed.

She was predeceased by her grandparents Paul and Mina Lovejoy who became parents to her, her mother Linda Sherwood, and her baby sister Traci Schlick. Candi is survived by her sister Kelly Cullen of Ithaca and her family including her brother-in-law Todd Cullen and her cherished nieces and nephew Chelsea Cullen, Audrey Cullen and Liam Cullen.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, Feb. 7th, 2006 at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY. Rev. Michael Corriero will officiate. Burial will be private and at the convenience of her family. There are no prior calling hours but her friends are asked

to please bring a story to share at the service. A reception will

follow the funeral at a place to be announced at the service. Friends who wish may make a memorial contribution the Tompkins County SPCA, 1640 Hanshaw Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850 or to a charity of their own choice.
