Carl L. Foote Sr.

CARL J. FOOTE, Sr., age 87, of 365 Dryden-Harford Road, Dryden passed away after a period of declining health on Friday, November 19, 2010 at home surrounded by his loving family. Carl was born June 1, 1923 in Cortland, NY a son of the late Frank and Ina Cortright Foote. He was graduated from Dryden High School and served honorably in the US Army during WW II in the European Theater. He was the founder and owner of Acme Pest Control and Lawn Care. Carl was a member of the Ithaca Elks Lodge, the Dryden Veteran Memorial Home and Dryden Lodge #472 F. &A.M. He was a life area resident and on Dec. 5, 1959 was married to the former Patricia Armstrong in North Syracuse. He was a generous and loveable man who could liven up a room by his presence. Of all things, Carl’s family was of the greatest importance. To know him was to love him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Patricia at home, his children, Bonnie (William) Douglas of Ithaca, Michael (Debbie) Foote, Patrick (Renee) Foote, Wendy (Forrest Putney) O’Brien, Ann (Rob) Lower all of Dryden; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sons, Frank Foote and Carl J. “C.J.” Foote, Jr. and twelve siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, Nov. 22, 2010 at the Perkins Funeral Home. Burial with military honors provided by members of the Dryden Veterans Memorial Home Ritual Team will be in Willow Glen Cemetery. Friends are invited to call from 2 to 5 PM, Sunday at the funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden. Memorials are graciously directed to Hospicare, 172 East King Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850.
