Carlos L. Bell Sr.

CARLOS L. BELL, SR., age 91, of 5 Woodthrush Lane, Brooktondale, NY went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011 at the Cayuga Medical Center. Carlos was born January 28, 1920, in DePeyster, NY, a son of the late Clarence and Martha Ross Bell. His family relocated to Dryden, NY when Carlos was 2 years old and has been an area resident since then. He was a dairy farmer on the Freeville-Groton Road for many years and managed the E.J. Barrett Farm in Slaterville for 16 years prior to being employed at Montgomery Ward and Schulmans Furniture Store. Later he retired from the Ithaca Agway Store. He was a 60 year member of the Brooktondale Baptist Church, and the Caroline Seniors. Carlos was a loving and devoted husband and father, an ever present and gifted witness for the Lord who will be missed by his family and friends.Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Alice Rose Bell of Brooktondale, his daughter, JoAnn Palmer of Martville, NY; his son, Carlos L. (Dorothy) Bell, Jr. of Mocksville, NC; grandchildren, Cherith (David) Alexander, Marianne (Eric) Pitcher, Joel Palmer, Terah Palmer, Michael (Lisa) Bell, Martin (Sharon) Bell and Melanie (Daniel) Martin; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Verna, Leslie, Howard, Lloyd, Hollis and Charlotte. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011 at the Brooktondale Baptist Church with Pastor Richard Lloyd officiating, Burial will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden.
