Carlton Richard “Dick” Elston,
79, formerly of Dryden, NY, passed away on July 9, 2010 in Tarpon Springs, FL . A long time Dryden, NY resident, he operated Louies Lunch Wagon for many years on the Cornell Campus, and was later employed as a professional driver for Swarthout Bus Lines. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Reta Sickmon Elston. Dick will always be remembered for his fun loving nature, genuine smile, his love of people and his family. He truly never met a stranger, and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; children: Sandy (Dick) Dolgas, Rae (Bruce) Harris, Linda (Wayne) Dewitt, Scott Elston, Michael (Pam) Elston, Jean (Dale) Thomas, David (Darlene) Stinard, Cindy (Jack) Mason, Bonny (Craig) Layton; 23 Grandchildren; 24 Great Grandchildren; two sisters, Grace Cutter and Ethel Holly. He was preceded in death by eight sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, July 16th, 2010 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Austin officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call from 5 to 7 PM, Thursday, at the funeral home, 55 West Main Street, Dryden.
