Carol M. Vinnedge Olsen

CAROL M. VINNEDGE OLSEN , age 77, of 5 Pleasantview Drive, Cortland, NY passed away peacefully after a short illness at her home where she was surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 17th, 2007. She was graduated from Virgil High School in 1946 and was married to Donald Olsen on Sept. 11, 1948. Mrs. Olsen was employed for many years as a punch press operator at Smith Corona. After her retirement in 1972, the Olsen’s spent the next 22 years in Pasco County, FL returning to Cortland in 1994. Carol and Don enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with their family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Donald Olsen, of Cortland, her children, Gail (William) Cutler of Cortland, Valerie (William Whitford) Mastronardi of Tampa, FL and her son, Wayne Olsen of Homosassa, FL; a brother, Wallace (Joan) Vinnedge of Somers, MT; grandchildren, Donald Mastronardi, Tammy Cutler Howe, Andrew and Nicole Olsen; three great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers, Arvin "Red" Vinnedge and Rolland Vinnedge

Honoring Carol’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services at this time. Interment and graveside service will be later in Virgil Rural Cemetery. Friends are asked to consider a memorial to a charity of their own choice. Perkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
