CAROL MAE PATTERSON, age 73, of Titus Towers, Ithaca, NY passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015 at the Cayuga Medical Center after a brief illness. Carol was born March 13, 1942 in Auburn, a daughter of the late Raymond and Geraldine Dimond Shaw. Carol was graduated from Groton High School in 1960 and attended cosmetology school in Syracuse, NY.
Carol was a beautician in many local shops and worked as an aide at B.O.C.E.S. While living in Virginia worked as a cook and later as an aide in a local daycare center.
Survivors include her son, Brian C. Niver of Ovid; grandchildren, Dennis and Rebecca Niver; a step-granddaughter, Ninja DeParde; a great-grandson, Brody Niver; a sister, Patricia (Tim) Anderson of Spencer and Constance (Gene) Savon of Etna; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents as well as her husband, Howard G. Paterson, a son; Donald R. Thompson and her aunt and uncle, Lela and Raymond Sovocool and a daughter-in-law, Brenda L. Niver.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Friday, July 10, 2015 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. David H. Nicholls officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery. Friends are invited to call from 1 to 2 PM, Friday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden.
