Carol A. Weaver

CAROL A. WEAVER, age 69, of 811 North Lamont Circle, Cortland, NY passed away Monday, November 14, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born April 3, 1942 in Potsdam, NY, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Florence Kerr Kent. She attended Potsdam High School School and relocated to the area in 1966. Carol lived in Ithaca and Newfield and held several jobs in the Ithaca area; she was a registered Day Care Provider, Nurse’s aide at Lakeside Nursing Home, a custodian at Cornell University, a cashier for the Salvation Army Store, and was a cosmetologist for area beauty shops.

She later had her own beauty shop in her home. She was a former member of the Moose Club and former Camp Fire Leader and she loved to do crafts, sewing, crocheting and baking. Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed. Carol is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Arthur B. Weaver of Cortland; four daughters, Carol (Bob) Stone, Terry (Tony) Cain, Robin (Ronnie) Harris all of Ithaca, and Rebecca O’Donnell of Cortland; two sisters, Nancy of Ithaca and Sandra of Whitney Point; brother, Richard Kent of Syracuse; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and her beloved Pomeranian, “Rocky”. Carol was predeceased by her parents, her only son, Arthur B. Weaver, Jr., three brothers, Charles, Joe and Donald Kent and a sister, Joanne Peck.

A memorial service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 at Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Archie Smith officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Ithaca at a later date. Friends may call Saturday from 11 AM to 1 PM at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden.
