Catherine Ann Minarski

CATHERINE ANN MINARSKI, age 93, formerly of Horseheads, NY passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the Groton Nursing Home, Groton, NY after a period of declining health. Catherine was born July 6, 1925 in Youngsville, PA a daughter of the late Victor Byer and Mary Ksiazkiewicz Byer. She was graduated from Youngsville High School in 1943 and was married to Stanley Minarski on October 26, 1946. Catherine was employed for many years as a Nurse’s Aide at Elcor in Horseheads. She was a communicant of Saint Mary Our Mother Church and participated in the Rosary Society and many other church organizations. Mr. Minarski passed away November 11, 2015. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Catherine will be dearly missed.
She was predeceased by eleven siblings and her son, Joseph Minarski. Survivors include her children, David (Bette) Minarski of Dryden, Christine Minarski of Clifton Park, NY and Michael (Traci) Minarski of Breckenridge, CO; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Minarski of Galway, NY; a brother, Victor Byer of Jamestown, NY; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 AM, Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Holy Cross Church, 375 George Road, Freeville, NY. Friends are invited to call from 4 to 7 PM, Friday at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main Street, Dryden, NY. Interment will be Tuesday at 12 PM in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery, Horseheads, NY. Memorials are directed to St. Mary Our Mother Church, 816 West Broad Street, Horseheads, NY 14845.
