Cheryl A. (Loehrer) Knafla

Cheryl A. Knafla, age 72 of Liverpool, NY passed away on Thursday, September 1st, 2022 at Upstate University Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.

She was born November 6, 1949 in Saint Cloud, MN to the late Herbert and Phyllis Loehrer. Cheryl was married to Wayne Knafla in August of 1970 in a union which lasted 14 years. Cheryl worked for the VA Medical Center, Saint Cloud, MN in administration roles. After retiring, she moved to Liverpool, NY to be with her significant other, Steve Odum, where they enjoyed 10 years together.

Cheryl had a passion for charitable activities for many years including preparing special Christmas gifts for nursing home residents. She also enjoyed playing cards, anything that involved building with power tools, crafts of all kinds including scrapbooking and quilting. She is well known for her incredible smile and infectious laugh.

Cheryl is survived by her loving companion, Steve Odum; her son, Troy (Naomi) Knafla; daughter, Candace (Roger) Nieters; grandchildren Eric & Britney Nieters; brother, Douglas Loehrer.

Services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY with Rev. Matthew Binkewicz officiating. In lieu of flowers, Cheryl would want you to express your love to those you value.
