Ithaca- Chris Edward Beaver passed away peacefully with his family and dog by his side at Oak Hill Manor on his 67th birthday. He was born on Wednesday, December 25th, 1957, and died on Wednesday, December 25th, 2024.
Chris retired from Therm after over 30 years of service. While there, he worked as a Heat Treatment Operator alongside many of his close friends.
Chris was a dedicated football fan and avid supporter of the Detroit Lions. He was also a well-informed car lover and especially loved his Corvette. Chris was a detailed-oriented craftsman and handcrafted many beautiful furniture pieces throughout his life as a finish carpenter.
Above all else, Chris was a papa to his baby girl, Peggy Sue. His four-legged companion of 11 years was so loved by him. She will continue to live with and be spoiled by Chris’ family, just as he wished.
Chris was predeceased by his parents, Harold Edward Beaver and Shirley S. Beaver, as well as his brother-in-law, Jakob Ruebel III.
Chris leaves behind his sister, Terry Ruebel. Though he did not have children of his own, Chris was a devoted uncle to many generations of nieces and nephews as well as their significant others. He is survived by his nephew, Michael (Laura) Ruebel Sr., and niece, Kristie (Rick) Ruebel. He also leaves behind great nephews and nieces Lee (Mel) Jackson, Lauren (Alex) Simoens, Michael Ruebel Jr., Hunter (Phil) Ryan, and Dakota Stetson. Chris is also survived by 6 great-great nieces and nephews.
Anyone who knew Chris can attest to his wonderful circle of friends. Chris leaves behind Jim Fowler, his beloved friend since the 5th grade, and his wife, Ann Fowler. Jim and Ann have been some of Chris’ biggest supporters through the years. His family is eternally grateful for their friendship.
Chris spoke highly of his nursing team at Oak Hill Manor as well as his Hospicare team. He left our world on his terms and was supported by a village of people he loved.
Chris will be honored through a graveside funeral in spring. Details to be announced at a future date.
