Claudette J. Testut, age 75, of Baker Hill Rd., Freeville, NY went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 14, 2015 at the Hospicare Residence. Born November 8, 1939 in Elmira, NY she was the daughter of the late Claude and Susie Smith Bolt. Raised in northern Pennsylvania, she grew up on a farm and went on to obtain her teaching certificate. She taught at Brooktondale Baptist Schools.
On October 6, 1961 she married Duane E. Testut who survives. She was a faithful member of Brooktondale Baptist Church, taught Sunday school and sang in the choir for many years.
In addition to her husband, Duane, Claudette is survived by her son, Charles Testut of Freeville, NY; daughter, Suzanne Wixom of Albany, NY; grandchildren, Zachery, Tristan, Sonja and Nicholas Wixom; children of other parents, Denny (Nancy) Dailey of Groton, NY and their children, Danielle (Mike) Smith and their son, Hunter Smith of Seattle, WA; Terrie Pakkala of Bath, NY and her children, Michael Haddad, Nadia (Jason) Lutgen and Aimee (Matt) Swanson all of Jamestown, NY, Nathan (Rachel) Haddad of Shreveport, LA and David Haddad; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Clara (Rev. Cal) Jones of Okeechobee, FL, Patricia (Rev. James) Belt of Dalton, PA, Lucille Eddy of Rochester, NY, Grace (Ernest)Deming of Riverside, CA; double cousins, Jessie (Liz)Bolt of Lawrenceville, PA and Fred (Kim) Bolt, Sr. of Mansfield, PA; sister in law, Joanne (Eugene) Gray Crispell of Opelika, AL. In addition to her parents,
she was predeceased by her infant brother, Henry Bolt, her son, Daniel
Eugene Testut, brother in law, Rev. Harold Eddy, double cousins, David Bolt, Donald Bolt and Jackson Bolt; and brother in law, Dr. Bruce Gray.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, September 19, 2015 in the Brooktondale Baptist Church, 2311 Slaterville Rd., Brooktondale, NY with Rev. Richard Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow in Snyder Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 -11 am prior to the service at the church.
