Clayton Junior Bowker
, born March 13, 1926, longtime resident of Dryden, NY, died in Sun City, AZ, Tuesday, February 22, 2011. He always fondly recalled his years growing up on the farm of his parents, James Clayton and Frances Marion McKinney Bowker. He was active in Grange where he met his wife Geraldine. Clayt spent most of his adult life in the construction business and had owned a hardware and building supply store, a lumber yard, and managed his own construction business, Bowker Builders. He served his community in many ways including memberships in Sertoma Club International, 4H,Dryden Central School Board of Education to name a few. He has held leadership positions in several organizations including the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He and his wife, Geraldine, served a church mission in Tonga. Clayt also known as “Junior” was loved and respected by everyone who knew him and will be sorely missed by family and friends alike. He is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Geraldine Emma Webb Bowker; his children: Carol Lapham, Bill Bowker, Mary Fellows, Deedie Fenner, and Gloria Ruuspakka as well as their spouses and families. Also surviving are his two brothers Pete and Bob; sisters Karen Galeotti, Susie MacKecknie, JoAnne Williams. A memorial service is being held at 10 AM, Friday, February 25th at the LDS chapel in Sun City, AZ. Burial will be in Mclean Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Clayton has requested that donations can be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Mission Fund (can be received by your local LDS church) or to Hospice of the Valley in Peoria, AZ.
