Clayton L. Dans Jr.

ITHACA – Clayton L. Dans Jr, 86, beloved husband and father, died Friday, May 19, 2023 at Cayuga Medical Center after a short illness. Clayt, the son of Clayton and Gertrude Mack Dans was born June 29, 1936 in Cortland Memorial Hospital, Cortland, NY.  On July 5, 1958 he was married to Geraldine “Gerry” Frady and has lived in Freeville since then in the same house.
Clayt cherished his family and home. He worked at the Smith Corona Corp in Cortland prior to retiring.
Clayt is survived by his sons, Stephen (Denise) Dans of the town of Dryden, Jeffrey (Sherry) Dans of Cortland; grandson, Tony Dans (fiancé Emily) of Candor;  granddaughter, Heather Dans of Groton; sister, Carolyn Harrington of PA; and also several nieces and nephews whom he cared deeply for. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Gerry in 2010.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
