Daryl "Buz" Metzler

Daryl P. “Buz” Metzler, 69 of Groton passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at home with his family by his side.  He was born on March 1, 1951 in Gouverneur, NY the son of the late Clyde and Cecile Stowell Metzler.  Daryl loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed woodworking, yard work, riding his motorcycle and working on cars.  Daryl was a volunteer fire fighter with McLean Fire Dept. and had been employed for several years at both O’Shea Tire in Cortland and Cornell University.

Our father was a loving man and will be missed by so many, especially his children, Kandy (Jamie) Metzler-Smith, Tammi Metzler, Rhonda (Donnie) Warner and Daryl Metzler Jr.; his step children, Carol (Leo) Shaw, Bobby (Kyle) Habalou, John Habalou and Michael (Nancy) Habalou; his sister, Rhonda (Rick) Bossard and brother, Denver Metzler; also by his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Daryl is predeceased by his wife, Dawn L. Metzler; daughter, Julie Metzler; granddaughter, Ashley and brother, Wayne Metzler.

Private services and burial in McLean Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family
