David R. Coleman

David R. Coleman, age 66, of Dryden, passed away on November 22, 2017. David was born on May 25, 1951 and grew up in Trumansburg, NY. David graduated from Cornell University and continued on seeking adventures and happiness often choosing the path less taken.

David was a former technical support specialist at CBORD. In addition, he was actively involved in various aspects of Dryden Methodist Church with various roles over the years in the men's prayer group, church leadership team and personnel committee. He was also a member of the Sertoma Club and volunteered at many other organizations.

David had an amazing gift for gab that led him to be a special person in many of the lives he crossed over the years. David took great pride in Scottish heritage and the various roles he held over the years; friend, father, brother, husband, landlord, colleague, Cornell Alum, work husband, volunteer, parishioner, partner, pet owner and drinking buddy.

Over the years, David's clan consisted of numerous individuals that had one thing in common... a love and appreciation for life, good times and the special man he was.

David is survived by his daughter, Sarah Fricke-McAleer of CT, grand daughter Kendall McAleer of CT, a sister Lisa Cook of NY, a brother Douglas Coleman of NY, brother in law Robert Flood husband of deceased sister Lindsey Flood, nieces and nephews Chris Flood, Jeffrey Flood, Steven Flood, Robert Flood, Meredith Coleman, Trevor Coleman and his former spouse Karen English of NY. David loved and cherished his time with his fiancée, Stella Sill and life long brother and friend, Gino Romeo. David also had many loving and caring friends in his life that he cared for deeply.

An aggressive form of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy cut David's time with us way too short. But it is said it's not the years in your life that count; it's the life in your years. With that in mind, may all the people that played a role in his life find comfort knowing that you helped David pack a lifetime of countless memories in his years... and ask you to join in the celebration of his life.

His funeral will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at the Dryden United Methodist Church 9 East Main Street Dryden, New York 13053. The service will begin at 4:00pm with calling hours prior at 3:00pm. Pastor Harold Wheat will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate. Contributions in his memory may be made in lieu of flowers to the Dryden United Methodist Church.
