David Louis Drogo, 61, of Harford, NY passed away peacefully in his home on February 12, 2013. David was born on December 2, 1951, in Syracuse, NY, son of the late Louis and Teresa Brusso Drogo of Minoa, NY. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Barbara; also by two sisters, Patricia (Bill) of Baldwinsville, NY; Pamela (Lenny) of Mexico, NY; and three brothers, Douglas (Dawn) of Delmar, NY; Dennis (Wendy) of Stafford, Va; and Daniel (Patty) of East Syracuse, NY; as well as 14 nieces and nephews.

David was an Electronic System Sales Representative for SimplexGrinnell in Johnson City, NY. Utilizing his skills in electronics, he also freelanced as a sound engineer for several Cornell University a cappella groups and for regional high school musical productions. A musician himself, he enjoyed playing guitar and, most recently, ukelele with friends.

As an avid horseman, David enjoyed fox hunting and playing polo. He was a former member of Limestone Creek Hunt Club, and partnered with his wife, Barbara, as joint owners of their local farmer pack, the Harford Hounds. David was an associate member of the Skaneateles Polo Club and played with the Wednesday night polo league at Cornell University. His deep, resonate voice provided play-by-play commentary for the Skaneateles Polo Club and the Cornell men's and women's varsity teams. He was well-known and well-loved as the "voice of Cornell polo, " having served as an announcer for 30 years. He will always be remembered for his lively and instructive explanations of the rules and finer points of the game.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Friday, Feb. 15 at the Bethel Grove Bible Church, 1763 Slaterville Road (NTS Rt. 79), Ithaca, NY 14850. Burial, delayed until spring, will be in Virgil Rural Cemetery, Virgil, NY. Friends are invited to call from 4 to 7 PM, Thursday at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main Street, Dryden, NY.
