David R. Hall, age 72 of Dryden, NY was promoted to his heavenly home, to be with his Lord and Savior, unexpectedly on Friday November 23, 2018 at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, NY.
Dave was born May 25, 1946 in Cortland, NY to Edith Webster Hall and the late Ronald W. Hall. He was a graduate of Dryden High School and served in the US Army from 1964-1967 with deployments to Germany and Vietnam. Upon his return from service, Dave went to work in the Auto Industry as a mechanic and retiring as a manager of an auto parts store in Cortland in 2006. Dave was very active in the Dryden Baptist Church, and served as a Deacon for many years. One of Dave’s loves was music, he used his gift of voice and guitar for many years at the church, at nursing homes in Cortland, barbershop quartets and countless other musical events throughout the years.
Survivors include his mother, Edith, of Dryden, NY; his wife of 48 years, Lorraine Evington Hall; his daughter, Kimberly Hall (Brian) Stowell of Dryden, NY; a son, Michael Hall of Dryden, NY; grandchildren, Grace Snyder-Hall, Emma Stowell, Landon Hall, Janelle Hall and Trevor Stowell; his sister, Linda Hall (John) Prentice of Newfield, NY; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Sandy Evington and Nelson and Linda Davis of Dryden, NY and his mother-In-law, Marian Evington as well as many extended family members. David was predeceased by his father, Ronald W. Hall; and his father-in-law, Buford Evington.
The Family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses, EMS Providers, friends, family and everyone else that cared for Dave over the years during his fight with illness.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Dryden Baptist Church, with Rev. Ron Miller officiating. Private burial will be in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden, NY.
