DAVID L. METTLER, SR., age 72, of 393 Harford Road, Brooktondale. NY passed away Tuesday, April 14th at the Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca after a brief illness. Born March 12, 1943 in Fulton, NY, he was a son of the late Carl and Grace Brown Mettler. David enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, spending time with his family and road trips.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Alfreda J. “Jean” Mettler at home; his children, Kelly (John) Seferlis of Ithaca, David L. (Bonnie) Mettler, Jr. of Freeville, Kyle (Robert Habalou) Mettler of Brooktondale; Joyce Park, Charles Mettler and James (Shirley) Mettler; grandchildren and many extended family members. He was predeceased by a daughter, Kimberly Mettler.
A celebration of David’s life will be held at 5 PM, Saturday, April 18th at the family residence, 393 Harford Road, Brooktondale. Friends are encouraged to bring a perennial plant to place in his memorial garden. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Perkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
