David Sincrest Richardson, 79 of Lansing, NY passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023 and was reunited with his beloved wife Martha.
David was born to Maynard and Lenora Richardson and attended Ithaca High School where he graduated in 1962.
He leaves behind 2 sisters, Charlotte and Lorraine (Eric), 1 brother, Maynard, 2 sons Jeff (Nicole), Scott (Lisa), grandchildren Jonah (Jen), Natia (Joe), Kyla (Lee), Jaydenn (Owen), 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
David worked as a Journeyman electrician for the local union 241 and Cornell University for 22 years. Upon his retirement from electrical work, in 2001 he became the diversity recruiter for Cornell's project design and construction which had a mission to bring women and minorities into skilled trades. He also received many awards for his service and dedication.
David was a corvette enthusiast and was a long time member of the Generations Corvette Club of CNY.
David was also a highly respected master in Tae Kwan Do and taught a number of students, parents and extended families at GIAC and Southside Community Center. He played for several years in the semi-pro football team the Ithaca Chiefs and won many trophies in the 1/4 mile grad races.
To know David was to love David for his infectious smile and larger than life personality. So please join the family at Perkins Funeral Home of Dryden on July 8th from 10-12 with immediate burial to follow at the Willow Glen Cemetery. There will be a celebration of life at the VFW in Ithaca afterword.
