David A. Sutfin

David A. Sutfin, age 80, longtime resident of Midline Road, Freeville, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Hospicare of Ithaca, NY after a courageous battle with advanced Parkinson’s disease.

David was born March 25, 1941 in Dryden, NY he was the son of the late John and Mabel Cornelius Sutfin.  He attended Dryden Central School. In his younger years, David worked on several dairy farms and then started a small dairy with his father on Midline Road. He also worked at Morse Chain in Ithaca, NY for close to 40 years. Before his illness, David’s hobbies included hunting, fishing and listening to country music.

David is survived by brothers, Henry, Gene (Anne) and Donald (Kim) all of Freeville, NY; sisters in law, Brenda Sutfin of Freeville, NY, Sandie Sutfin of Ithaca, NY and Shirley Sutfin of Linden, Tennessee; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by brothers, Clifford, Lawrence, Maynard, Kenneth, Raymond, Frank, Archie and George; and sister, Ruth Sutfin.

Calling hours for friends and family will be held from 9-10 am on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY.  A Graveside service will follow at Willow Glen Cemetery, Route 13, Dryden, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospicare, 172 E. King Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850.
