On September 2, 2014, Debra A. Smith, age 55, Harrisburg, Pa. ""slipped the surley bonds of earth to touch the face of God"". She lost a courageous fourteen month battle with cancer. Her husband, C.W. Smith was at her side.They married on August 10, 2008. Her parents, Robert and Carlene Muncey of Virgil, NY, her sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and Greg Darling of Cortland, NY and brother and sister-in-law Dale and Debi Muncey of Groton, NY survive. She leaves behind her three children, Joseph Paino and companion Becky Kistler, Mechanicsburg, Pa. Jeffery Paino, Dallas, Texas and Jonathon Paino, Harrisburg, Pa. Also her three step-children, Lisa K. Cohenour, Mifflintown, Pa., Dawn Denise Cohenour ( Martin), Port Royal, Pa. and Michael Smith (Lisa), Liverpool, Pa. She had three nieces, one nephew, several aunts, uncles, cousins, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Debbie had a very close and loving extended family. Early in her working career, she owned and operated a successful child-care business, spent several years in the banking industry and was a successful insurance professional. She enjoyed golfing, traveling, riding the Harley, cooking and spending time with family and friends. Debbie personified the saying ""she was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside"". She loved and was loved.
A celebration of her life will be held in the Harrisburg area at a later
time. Funeral services will be held on September 11, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Perkins Funeral Home in Dryden, New York. Burial will follow in the Virgil Rural Cemetery.
