DENISE STEVENS
, age 50, of 39 West Academy St., McGraw, NY passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2011 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Born Madeline Denise Bell on Oct. 29, 1960, she attended school in Cortland and has been a life area resident. “Denise” was employed for many years as a waitress and bar tender. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother and enjoyed a good party and spending time with her children and grandchildren. A constant friend to all who knew her, she will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her father, Donald T. Bell, Sr. and her step-mother, Nancy of Newfield, NY; her husband, Richard C. Stevens, Jr. of Homer, her sons, Ike (Rebecca) Barrows of Cortland, Jason (Savannah Wendt) Barrows of Cortland, and Richard T. Stevens of Homer; her daughter, Debra (Curtis) Stevens of Homer; a God Daughter, Stacie Leigh Barrows of Cortland; her siblings, Donald T. (Jeannette) Bell, Jr. of McGraw, Tina Bell of Cortland, Michael Wm. (Carole) Bell, Sr. of Freeville, John Bell of Enfield, David (Doug Dockstader) Bell of Trumansburg and Crystal Bell of Locke; several step-brothers and sisters and extended family members; thirteen grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Mary Ida Gilbert Bell and her sister, Cindy Lou Stevens
Memorial Services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, Feb. 17 at the Perkins Funeral Home. Burial, delayed until spring, will be in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends may call from 1 to 2PM, Thursday, at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden.
