DONALD E. OLSEN, 86 of 5 Pleasant View Drive, Cortland, NY passed away peacefully at his home on August 1, 2013. For years he fought through pain and illness beyond that which a person should have to endure. He attended Virgil High School and married Carol Vinnedge on September 11, 1948. Don served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II and was deployed to the South Pacific. Mr. Olson had been employed at Brewer Titchener and retired as Service Manager for Stafford’s Chevrolet in Dryden in 1968 due to health issues. Don and Carol moved to Pasco County, Florida in 1971 and spent the next 23 years there, returning to Cortland in 1994. Don was a volunteer at the Cortland Memorial Hospital for many years. Don was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His passing leaves a large void in his families’ lives and hearts. His five great-grandchildren had fond memories of their “Pop-Pop”
