DONALD E. ROGERS, Jr.,
73, of Brandon, FL and formerly of Dryden, NY, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at Brandon Regional Hospital, Brandon, FL.
Born September 13, 1931 in Esperence, NY, he was a son of the late Donald E. and Anita Vrooman Rogers. He served in the U.S. Army for 20 years, serving during both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. Following his service to his country, he returned to work for NYSEG for the next 17 years, retiring in 1987.
Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife, Carol Turk Rogers of Brandon, FL; his children, William Rogers, Steven Rogers, David Rogers, Karen Hamilton and Johanna Chaffee all of the Ithaca, NY area; eight grandchildren; siblings, Douglas Rogers, Virginia Rogers, Edward Rogers, Richard Rogers and Margarete Herne; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, April 28, 2005 at Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden, NY with Rev. Catherine Taylor and members of the Dryden Veteran’s Memorial Home Ritual Team officiating. There are no calling hours. The Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY is handling the arrangements.
