Doris A. Abbey

Doris A. Abbey, age 86, of Ringwood Road, Freeville, NY passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Beechtree Care Center, Ithaca, NY after an extended illness with PSP. Doris was born October 28, 1930 in Harford, NY a daughter of the late Arthur and Edith Dunks Schutt. On Sept. 15, 1951 she was married to Kenneth Abbey who passed away March 21, 2012. She was retired from Dryden Central Schools and previously worked for Versatile Foods, did child care and sold Avon. Doris is survived by her children, Glenda (David Ross)Abbey of Dryden, Ellen (George) Shank of Freeville, Vicky (Thomas) Ahola of Freeville, Roy (Laurie) Abbey of Brooktondale, Sheila (David Church) Abbey of Dryden; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sister, Dorothea Schutt; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services for immediate family will be held from 2-3 pm Friday, March 24, 2017 at Perkins Funeral Home. Friends are invited to join the family for a reception and fellowship at 3:30 pm at the Dryden Veteran's Memorial Home. Delayed interment will be held at Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden.
