Dorla E. (Thornton) Stillman

Mrs. Dorla Stillman, 79, of Cortland passed away Sunday September 25, 2022.   Dorla was born in Cortland, NY where she lived most of her life.  She maintained employment in the private healthcare field and a school aid at Dryden School.  She loved to help care for others who had a hard time caring for themselves.   Dorla was an animal lover and always had her cats and dogs by her side.  Her family wishes to thank Morningstar Residential Care Center in Oswego, NY for their care and compassion especially during the pandemic when visitation was restricted.

She was predeceased by her parents, Daisy and James Thornton along with her brother, Albert; two sisters, Arlene and Myra and her beloved husband of 30 years, John Stillman Sr.

Dorla is survived by her children, James (Doreen) Burch, Christopher (Becky Hughes) Stillman, John (Lynn DeMartino) Stillman Jr, and Paul (Becky) Stillman; her grandchildren, Brandi Stillman, Britney Stillman, Brendon Stillman, Vance Stillman, Dalton Stillman, Colten Stillman and most recently a great granddaughter, Carolynn Stillman.

Services will be held at Perkins Funeral Home 55 West Main St Dryden NY 13053 on Thursday September 29, 2022, at 1 pm.  Calling from 12-1 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at Virgil Rural Cemetery.
