DOROTHY C. KENYON
On Wednesday, June 22, 2016 a one in a million love story ended when Dorothy Carol Wheaton Kenyon, age 79, of Marathon, NY passed away at Cortland Regional Medical Center.
Born January 12, 1937 in Marathon, NY she was the daughter of the late Marc and Margaret Jones Wheaton. On July 23, 1955 she married Donald J. "Snowball" Kenyon Sr. at Greene, NY. They loved each other deeply. She had been employed as a Home Health Aide with Cortland County prior to her retirement. The best wife, mother and grandmother in the world, she dearly loved her husband, children, grandchildren and everyone she knew and everyone loved her right back.
In addition to her husband of 61 years "Snowball", Dorothy is survived by her children, Donna (Barry Wood) Kenyon of Harpursville, NY, Amy (Al Whitt) Kenyon of Cortland, NY, Donald (Michelle Thompson-Drake) Kenyon Jr. of Marathon, NY, Jason (Joanne) Kenyon of Marathon, NY and Teri Powers of Marathon, NY; grandchildren, Darbi Schneider, Alison Whitt, Greg (Ashley) Kenyon, Ashley Whitt, Zackary Rogers, Alexis Kenyon and Hunter Kenyon ; six great grandchildren including Ariya Kenyon who she was lucky enough to see born May 27, 2016. She is also survived by sisters, Sandra Nowalk of Willet, NY and Lois Nelson of Marathon, NY and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition she was predeceased by her beloved sister, Jean Hubbard and five other siblings.
At her request there will be no services. Private interment will be in Marathon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Marathon Volunteer Emergency Squad, Peck St., Marathon, NY 13803.
