Douglas C. Hislop, 88 died Saturday, March 1, 2025.
He was born July 5, 1936 in Clarenceville, Quebec, Canada to the late Andrew and Cassie Campbell Hislop. Doug was employed at Cornell University Vet School for 36 years, retiring in 1994.
Doug enjoyed many activities such as cutting his own wood for the winter months, hunting, gardening, fishing, mowing lawns and helping others with various projects. He always had a smile on his face and a warm handshake or hug for all.
Survivors are his wife, Eleanor “Ellie” Karns Hislop of Cortland; his daughters, Debra Everett (Gerald) of Johnson City, Tenn., Darlene Jackson of Linden, Tenn., Lori Levengood of Kirkville, NY; son, Greg Levengood (Lori) of Auburn, NY; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Joyce Smith of Noyan, Que., Shirley Reynolds of Clarenceville, Que., Maxine Gingerla of Montreal, Que., several nieces and nephews. In addition he was predeceased by brothers, Gerald and Clifton and sister, Winnie.
To accommodate the wishes of Doug, there will be no calling hours. Interment will take place, at a later date, in Heritage Hill Cemetery, Arkport, NY.
