Dustin James Hovanec

Dustin James Hovanec, 25, of Danby passed away unexpectedly on December 23, 2017. He was born on October 7, 1992 in Ithaca to Kevin Hovanec and Heather Elwell-Sanchez.

Dustin graduated from Ithaca High School Class of 2010. He worked at various body shops working as an auto body mechanic. Dustin enjoyed snowboarding, skateboarding, hiking, fly-fishing and spending many countless hours laughing and enjoying life with friends and family.

He is predeceased by his maternal grandfather Donald Elwell.

Dustin is survived by his parents Kevin (Kelli) Hovanec and Heather (Jeff)Elwell -Sanchez, his sister Casey Ann Hovanec, his step-brother Roman, his step-sister Angelica, his paternal grandfather Jim ( Marge) Hovanec his paternal grandmother Carole Dawson, his maternal grandmother Linda (Rich)Elwell Ackerly, his aunts; Holly (Asa)Elwell Schindler, Hillary (Corey) Soule, Rebecca Hovanec, Amy(Thomas) Tracy , his uncles; Heath (Melissa) Elwell, Ben (Corinne) Hovanec his grandfather Michael Dawson his cousins; Finley Schindler, Jonah Schindler, Molly Soule, Ezra Elwell, Ruby Elwell, Kaylee Maxwell, Devin Maxwell, his friends and his cat Smudge.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
