E. JEAN BROWN, 73, of 325 McGraw House, Ithaca, NY died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006 at the Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca, NY. Mrs. Brown was born in Groton, NY a daughter of the late Stephen and Evelyn Murray Pardon. "Jean" was married on Dec. 3, 1949 to John J. Brown at Ithaca, NY. Jean was employed for 32 years at the Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca as a ward secretary. Mr. and Mrs. Brown resided in Etna for 47 years before relocating to Ithaca in 2001. Years ago Mrs. Brown was an avid bowler and recently was a member of Carl’s Breakfast Club. She was a member of the Varna United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 56 years, John J. Brown of Ithaca, her sons, John C. Brown in New York City and Rohn E. (Nancy Potischman) Brown of Potomac, MD; her daughters, Noreen (Jim Conner) of Austin, TX and Beth S. (Charles) Garlock of Waterford, MI; her sisters Leola (Bud) Gunn of Lansing, NY, Stephanie Harper and Joan Dassance both in Groton, NY; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Jacquie Lewis officiating. Burial, delayed until spring, will be in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY.
