Edger J Wood

EDGAR JAMES WOOD, age 67, formerly of Ellis Hollow Apts., Ithaca, NY went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Lakeside Nursing Home, Ithaca after a lengthy illness. "Jim" was born Sept. 29, 1941 at Dryden a son of the late Edgar and Mabel Quinn Wood. He attended school in Ithaca and was a member of the Laborer’s Union, Local #785 for 49 years. Jim worked on many local building projects and retired in 1996. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family members and loved to spend time with his dog, "Babe". They were often seen walking in the Fall Creek neighborhood when he resided there with his mother.

Survivors include his sisters, Shirley Carman of Ithaca, Maybelle (Sam) Ferro of Cortland and Edith Horky of Groton; nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Beverly Crowell and a brother-in-law, Walter Carmen.

Graveside services will be held at 3:30 PM Thursday in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Rev. James Geuder will officiate. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Perkins Funeral Home, Dryden. Friends who wish to remember Jim are asked to consider a donation to Hospicare, 172 E. King Road, Ithaca, NY 14850
