EDITH C. SMITH,
92, formerly of Pendleton St., Cortland, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Groton Nursing Facility. Born April 10, 1920 in Preston, NY,
Edith was the daughter of the late Dudley and Hazel Law Crumb. A 1937 graduate of McGraw High School, Edith was married to Curtis Smith who predeceased her. She was employed at Cortland Corset for 49 years.
Survivors include her friend, Regina Canfield of Caroline, her step-children, Cecile Robbins and Klaron (Janice) Smith of Cortland and Coreva Goddard of Marathon; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Richard D. Smith and a grandson, Jason R. Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday at the Perkins Funeral Home with burial to follow in Cortland Rural Cemetery. Friends are invited to call Friday from 9 to 10 AM at the funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden. Memorials are directed to Hospicare, 172 E. King Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850.
