Edward L. Elliott,
age 82, of Rt. 215, Cortland, NY (Town of Virgil) passed away Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Ed was born March 31, 1930 in Cortland and was a son of the late John and Doris Seamans Elliott. His wife, Thelma VanGorder Elliott passed away in 2004.
Ed was life resident of Virgil and was a dairy farmer, owned his own farm and later was employed at VanGorder Poultry Farm and Willow Glen Cemetery. Ed enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his daughters, Vickey L. Tobin of Cortland, Kelley M. Arnold of Pulaski, VA; his son, Phillip “‘Pete” (Deborah) Elliott of Cortland; siblings, Julian (Barbara) Elliott of Kings Mt., NC, John “Pete” (Elaine) Elliott of Marathon, Carl (Dorla) Elliott of Marathon, Shirley Hill of Truxton; grandchildren, Jason, Tara and Erin Tobin, Michael and Daniel Arnold, Kelsey and Emily Elliott; three great-grandchildren, Gauge and Kyla Arnold and Anna Nottingham; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Kenneth Tobin, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012 at the Perkins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Virgil Rural Cemetery.
