EDWARD A. RUSSELL,
age 70, of 223 Harford Road, Dryden, NY passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at the Groton Nursing Home, Groton, NY after a long illness. "Ed" was born February 9, 1939 at Cortland a son of the late George A. Russell and Anna M. Boyce. Eddie attended Marathon School and served in the US Army from 1956 to 1964. He was employed by Lynn and Bob Wright as well as Kerm Marquis before retiring from Hewitt Bros. Mill in Locke. He was a hard worker and a faithful , husband, father, brother and friend. His wife, Gloria, passed away May 29, 2006.
Survivors include his children, Sheri L. Russell of Freeville, Susan Hurd of Owego, NY, Robert Magee of Cortland and Vivian Magee of Triangle, NY; his sister, Vivienne (Donald) Lawson of Harford; his brother, Noland Smith of San Diego, CA; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, George A. Russell; his mother, Anna Boyce Russell Smith Parker; and his wife, Gloria VanDerveer Russell.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Kinney officiating. Burial will be private in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call from 2 to 3 PM Saturday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden.
